The December 2025 newsletter unveiled the Regent: heir to the Throne of Stars, a haughty cosmic prince whose second resource, Stars, powers his spells while minions do the fighting.

December 2025's monthly newsletter delivered the sequel's second new character: the Regent, heir to the Throne of Stars — a haughty cosmic prince from a distant world who wandered to the spire chasing stimulation, and found plenty of creatures to conquer and treasures to plunder.
The character notes set the tone: an imperious royal who draws power from the cosmos and delegates the actual labor to long-suffering minions. Mechanically, that splits into the two pillars that defined him at launch:
- Stars — the Regent's second card resource, generated alongside (and convertible with) regular energy. Stars persist between turns and pay for his cosmic spellbook; the economy of banking and spending them became his whole playstyle.
- Minions and the Sovereign Blade — his signature summon, a sword he Forges bigger over a fight while summoned helpers soak and swing.
The reveal completed the launch roster's picture: three returning classes plus the Necrobinder and now the Regent — the "two new, three returning" split that the marketing had promised since TGA. Players promptly ranked him the middle child of the difficulty ladder: stronger than his slow Act 1 suggests, and a monster once the Stars align. See the Regent class guide and his star-engine builds for how the prince actually plays.
