The August 2025 Neow newsletter for Slay the Spire 2 previewed new relics and fully re-illustrated potions — including the shopping-coupon coupon relic and the golden Joss Paper.

Relics keeping their classics. The relic lineup leaned on familiar silhouettes from the original spire, updated for the new art style. Among the teases: the shopping coupon — a relic that's literally a coupon from the in-game discount chain, a joke only regular customers of the shop would get — alongside cozy gear like the stone furnace humidifier (guaranteed good sleep, allegedly) and the golden Joss Paper, whose paper-burning luck would later become famous among exhaust-deck players as a draw engine.

In a game where a potion is often a boss fight's margin of victory, reading your inventory at a glance is a genuine gameplay upgrade.
The newsletter was also a schedule signal: monthly-ish communications, each packaging a few reveals on the road to the (then-planned) launch window. The next big beats — the Necrobinder reveal, the Ancients system, and eventually the delay to March 2026 — all followed in this cadence.
