Alinea Analytics estimates Slay the Spire 2 sold about 5.3 million copies in its first month, grossing roughly $108 million on Steam in March alone — second only to Red Desert that month.

The third-party accountants weighed in, and their number out-grew the official one: analytics firm Alinea Analytics estimates Slay the Spire 2 sold roughly 5.3 million copies in its first month — with about $108 million of Steam revenue in March alone.
The estimate came from analyst Reece Elliott, and it reconciles with the official beats that preceded it: 3 million copies in week one per Mega Crit, meaning the back three weeks of March added another two-plus million on the chart of a month where, per Alinea, only Pearl Abyss's Red Desert sold more.
The $108 million March figure is the one that resets expectations for indie-scale development: a $30 Early Access title, no marketing machine, no microtransactions — and a monthly gross that most live-service games spend years chasing.
The estimate also retroactively explained the launch's chaos: the server-crashing crowds, the 570K concurrency record, and the weekly chart #1 were all early readings of a demand curve that stayed steep through the month.
For the genre, Alinea's number is the headline: the deckbuilding-roguelike audience the original created is now demonstrably one of PC gaming's largest commercial communities — and the sequel collected its first month's tribute accordingly.
