Slay the Spire 2 Regent Cards — Best Cards & Card Tier List
Published 2026-09-209 min read
The Regent card pool in Slay the Spire 2 explained: Stars economy, Sovereign Blade summons, Forge payoffs and a full card tier list from Particle Wall down.
The Regent is Slay the Spire 2's royal project manager: 75 HP, a throne that follows him, and a card pool that runs on Stars — a second currency his cards generate and spend. The class overview covers his stats, the Divine Right starter relic and summons; this page ranks the actual cards you'll draft and shows the two deck shapes that clear Ascension. Drafting fundamentals live in the deck building guide.

The Stars economy (read this first)
Regent cards split into generators (Glow, Solar Strike, Venerate, Genesis), spenders (Radiate, Seven Stars, Sword Sage payoffs) and converters (Black Hole, Child of the Stars, Convergence). Every Regent deck is a budget: generate more Stars per turn than you spend, and the spenders print damage and Block. Drafting generators without spenders (or vice versa) is the classic new-Regent mistake.
S-tier — the cards that carry runs
| Card | Cost | Type | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Particle Wall | 0 | Skill | 9 Block (12 upg) for free — the best defensive common in the game, powers the Particle Wall loop |
| Radiate | 0 | Attack | 3 damage to ALL enemies per Star (4 upg) — with a Star engine this is an AoE win condition |
| Seven Stars | 2 | Attack | 7 damage to ALL enemies, 7 times — 49 AoE from one card; the Starlight engine finisher |
| Black Hole | 1 | Power | Pays out every time Stars are spent or gained — the passive that turns the economy into damage |
| Sword Sage | 2 | Power | Supercharges the Sovereign Blade summon; summons are the Regent's body-block economy |
| Comet | 0 | Attack | 33 damage (44 upg) plus 3 Weak — a boss fight in one card |
| Convergence | 1 | Skill | Converts next turn into a refund — smooths the Star budget across turns |
| Genesis | 2 | Power | Stars at the start of every turn; permanent engine |
| Void Form | 3 | Power | The first 2 cards you play each turn are free — the economy form |
| Tyranny | 1 | Power | Draws and upgrades from your piles every turn — permanent card quality engine |
A-tier — strong secondary picks
- Solar Strike / Shining Strike — damage + Star generation in one card; the early-game staples
- Glow / Hidden Cache / Venerate — cheap generators; you need 3–4 of these
- Gather Light / Cloak of Stars / Neutron Aegis — honest Block that fits the theme
- Knockout Blow — 30 damage (38 upg) that refunds Stars on kills
- Meteor Shower — Ancient-pool AoE with Weak attached (multiplayer favorite)
- Crash Landing — 21 AoE damage that refills your hand
- Furnace / Hammer Time / The Smith / Refine Blade / Spoils of Battle — the Forge sub-engine; pick one line, not all five
- Pale Blue Dot — draw engine for 5-card turns
- Devastate / Lunar Blast / Heavenly Drill — burst damage slots
B-tier — fine in the right deck
The summon and utility middle class: Summon Forth, Parry, Arsenal, Beat into Shape, I Am Invincible, Bulwark, Reflect, Resonance, Orbit, Spectrum Shift, Starlight payoffs, Quasar, Stardust, Make It So, Foregone Conclusion, Prophesize, Decisions Decisions, Bundle of Joy, Heirloom Hammer, Monarch's Gaze, Seeking Edge, Glitterstream, Patter, Cosmic Indifference, Terraforming, Big Bang, Royal Gamble, Monologue, Know Thy Place, Kingly Kick, Kingly Punch, Guiding Star, Crescent Spear, Crush Under, Astral Pulse, Gamma Blast, Collision Course, Celestial Might, Supermassive, Dying Star, Falling Star, BEGONE!, CHARGE!!, GUARDS!!!, Child of the Stars, Constellation, Plot, Tutor, Largesse, Pillar of Creation — multiplayer support cards (Plot, Tutor, Constellation, Largesse) jump a tier in co-op and fall to C solo.
C/D-tier — the skip pile
Cosmic Indifference duplicates, one-off Forge cards without the engine, cost-4 Kingly Kick before you have Star refunds, and the flavor cards (Patter, Know Thy Place) that neither generate nor spend. The Regent's pool is big; your deck should not be.
Two practical Regent deck plans
- Particle Wall loop (defensive): Particle Wall + Reflect + I Am Invincible + Convergence. Outlast everything, win with Seven Stars. Deck reference
- Star burst (aggressive): Genesis/Tyranny + Black Hole + Radiate + Comet. Every Star becomes AoE pressure. Deck reference
