Slay the Spire 2 Patch Notes & Updates — Bi-Weekly Beta Tracker

Slay the Spire 2 patch tracker: bi-weekly beta cadence, the v0.111.0 balance changes (Juggernaut buff, Reflect nerf, Sic 'Em buff), v0.107.x flashpoints and what each patch means for builds.

Slay the Spire 2 is patched roughly every two weeks on a beta branch, and beta patches periodically graduate to the main branch — so the meta moves twice a month, and this page moves with it. Below: the current patch's changes, the recent flashpoints, and what each shift means for your builds.

The Rhythm

Mega Crit's own framing (v0.107.0 beta notes, June 4, 2026): "Another bi-weekly beta patch is here!" — with some patches explicitly laying "the groundwork for moving the beta branch to the main branch," meaning stability and bug fixes front-loaded before balance swings. The practical takeaway: check this page every patch cycle before committing a run, because card values you memorized last month may literally have changed.

v0.111.0 (Beta) — The Current Balance Pass

Balance changes:

Change Detail
Juggernaut buff Damage 5(7) → 6(8) — a real buff to a D-tier card; watch it climb the Tier List
Monarch's Gaze buff (Regent) Energy cost 3(2) → 2(1)
Reflect nerf (Regent) Block 16(20) → 15(20) — still top-tier, slightly less absurd
Sic 'Em buff (Necrobinder) Summon 2(3) → 3(4) — direct support for the Osty build
The Scythe buff (Necrobinder) Damage 3(4) → 4(5)
The Boot relic buff Damage increase now also applies to Osty's attacks — co-op relevant
Skulking Colony buff +1 Strength on its gain turn at high Ascension
Aeonglass rework No longer applies the Ebb debuff; now gains Block on its Ebb move instead of Increasing Intensity

Quality of life: the Gremlin Merc fight now pays out 50% of the gold reward when the Fat Gremlin escapes with stolen gold (previously 0%).

UI & experience: run-start errors now show a popup instead of a black screen; a preferred Ascension can be set for the random-character option; Vakuu now tells you your visit count accurately; Pael's Flesh correctly updates the displayed max Energy; the Necrobinder's Sacrifice card previews its Block gain (planning with Dexterity/Frail just got easier); the Wither status preview matches Aeonglass's actual upgrade level.

Art: new Epoch art for Devastation, The 12 and The Giant; a Defect power-up animation; new Soul Nexus VFX. Translations updated across languages.

The v0.107.x Window — The Flashpoint

The v0.107.0 beta (June 4, 2026) was deliberately small — "mostly focused on stability," laying groundwork for the beta-to-main transition. The surrounding v0.107.1 "Major Update 2" cycle is the one that lives in infamy: it's the patch window at the center of the review-bomb story, where balance nerfs to infinite-combo decks, the Act 3 Doormaker fight and enemy tuning collided with a playerbase that felt unheard. The lesson Mega Crit appears to have taken — and the reason subsequent patches read the way they do — is that balance changes need visible communication.

What Each Kind of Change Means for Your Builds

  • Card buffs to B/C-tier cards (Juggernaut, Sic 'Em, The Scythe): these move the Tier List bottom-up — a buffed archetype payoff can quietly become a build-around.
  • Nerfs to S-tier staples (Reflect): the engine survives but the margin shrinks — Recount your Block math before you rely on it.
  • Enemy reworks (Aeonglass): fight-specific guides age faster than card guides; re-check boss pages after enemy-touching patches.
  • Relic changes (The Boot): cross-character implications — Osty builds got better in co-op and single-player.

How to Track Updates Yourself

The official channel is the Steam news hub for the app; the community wiki mirrors every beta patch under version-numbered pages (v0.107.0, v0.107.1 "Major Update 2", up through the v0.111.0 beta covered here). This page refreshes with each notable patch — the updated date above is your freshness check.
