Slay the Spire 2 System Requirements: PC, Mac & Linux
Official Slay the Spire 2 system requirements for Windows, macOS and Linux, plus Steam Deck verification. Short version: almost any PC from 2016 can run it.
Slay the Spire 2 has very low system requirements — it's a 2D card game that runs on a dual-core CPU, 4 GB RAM and 4 GB of storage, with no dedicated GPU needed beyond DirectX 12 or Vulkan support. The numbers below are copied verbatim from the official Steam store page; they are identical in spirit across all three desktop platforms.
Windows — Official Requirements
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 (64-bit) | Windows 10 (64-bit) |
| Processor | Dual-core 2.0 GHz | Quad-core 3.0 GHz |
| Memory | 4 GB RAM | 8 GB RAM |
| Graphics | DirectX 12 or Vulkan compatible, 1 GB VRAM | DirectX 12 or Vulkan compatible, 2 GB VRAM |
| Storage | 4 GB available | 4 GB available |
| Other | 64-bit processor and OS | 64-bit processor and OS |
macOS — Official Requirements
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| OS | macOS 12.0 (Monterey) | macOS 15.0 (Sequoia) |
| Processor | Intel Core i5 (dual-core) | Apple Silicon M1 / Intel Core i5 (quad-core) |
| Memory | 4 GB RAM | 8 GB RAM |
| Graphics | Metal-compatible GPU, 1 GB VRAM | Metal-compatible GPU, 2 GB VRAM |
| Storage | 4 GB available | 4 GB available |
Any M1-or-newer Mac clears the recommended tier by default; on Intel Macs, the practical floor is macOS 12 and a Metal-capable GPU (pre-2015 machines may fall short — to be confirmed per exact model).
Linux / SteamOS — Official Requirements
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Ubuntu 20.04 LTS / SteamOS 3.0 | Ubuntu 22.04 LTS / SteamOS 3.0 |
| Processor | Dual-core 2.0 GHz (x86_64) | Quad-core 3.0 GHz (x86_64) |
| Memory | 4 GB RAM | 8 GB RAM |
| Graphics | Vulkan 1.0 or OpenGL 3.3 compatible, 1 GB VRAM | Vulkan 1.0 or OpenGL 3.3 compatible, 2 GB VRAM |
| Storage | 4 GB available | 4 GB available |
Steam Deck & Handhelds
Slay the Spire 2 is Steam Deck Verified on the store page — full functionality, controls and display out of the box, and it ships for SteamOS 3.0 natively in the Linux requirements above. Community reports go further: one Steam forum user in March 2026 noted the game "runs well even on old computers," streaming from an eight-year-old desktop to a phone. If a Deck can run it, expect Steam Deck LCD, OLED, Windows handhelds (ROG Ally, Legion Go) and laptop-integrated GPUs to do the same — official console/handheld versions beyond Steam's own hardware remain unannounced.
What the Requirements Mean in Practice
- You don't need a gaming PC. A 2.0 GHz dual-core with 4 GB RAM and any DX12/Vulkan-capable graphics from roughly 2015 onward meets minimum.
- Storage is trivial: 4 GB, in an era of 100 GB+ installs.
- Recommended tier (quad-core, 8 GB) is about comfort, not capability — long sessions, background streaming, and the simultaneous-animation churn of four-player co-op combat are the only places extra headroom shows.
- Offline play: the store page doesn't specify whether solo mode needs a connection; co-op obviously does (to be confirmed). Controller support is confirmed via the Deck verification (to be confirmed for specific console-style pads beyond that).
If your machine can run a browser tab smoothly, it can almost certainly run Slay the Spire 2 — the only hardware question worth asking is whether your OS is 64-bit and recent enough (Windows 10+, macOS 12+, Ubuntu 20.04+ / SteamOS 3.0).
